“After the great adventure in the mine and what the mine has brought to this territory, we asked ourselves what our people should do... This is my fiftieth year underground, so for fifty years my life has been between the light and the darkness of the caves"
Sota Terra is a show created between Mataró (Catalonia) and Cagliari (Sardinia) that, during its creation process, collaborated with two choirs to explore the relationship between humans, the underground, and the planet. Our daily life makes us walk hurriedly and project our gaze forward, but what happens if we change our perspective and look down? We will find a planet that moves in geological time and whose history is difficult for humanity to comprehend. Our lives are summarized in a centimeter of stalactite. We invite you to become cyborg explorers, equipped with headlamps and cybernetic bracelets (which vibrate when the planet has seismic activity) and abandon the surface to immerse yourselves underland.
